JUNK FOODS AND ORAL HYGIENE!
We are here with the most demanding and very interesting topic i.e Maintaining oral hygiene when you are a true foodie like us! Especially when it comes to cheesy burgers, XL pizzas, pasta, biryani, and what not?
So would it be wrong If I say that we all love these things? (Don't we?)
I'll give few examples here to clarify why junk food is harmful?:
- The burgers and pizzas that we eat contain a large amount of starch and cheese that sticks to the teeth and stays there for a long time. (if not cleaned) can cause bacterial activity that will lead to dental problems.
- Carbonated beverages are highly acidic, so they are harmful to the teeth since they cause damage to the enamel.
- The extra added sugar in chocolates, ice creams, deserts make the food stick to our teeth which in turn leads to tooth decay and cavities.
And there are 100's of such examples.
BUT THE QUESTION IS HOW TO MAINTAIN ORAL HYGIENE WHILE CONSUMING JUNK FOOD?
Answer
- Always brush and floss your teeth 30 minutes after you've eaten.
- If you don't have a toothbrush and floss available, rinse your mouth with water.
- Chew on sugarless gums. Removing the buildup of food debris can limit harm.
- Don't forget to clean your tongue.
- Drink plenty and plenty of water.
- Limit sugary and acidic diet.
- Always brush before going to bed at night.
- Visit your dentist if you feel any unusual change in your mouth.
Okay, So there isn't any doubt in the fact that following these tips will limit your dental problems but it doesn't give us the license of eating junk all the time. 😛 Because too much of anything is dangerous❗ And Too much junk food will cause dental and overall body health problems.
SO EAT HEALTHY, STAY HEALTHY BECAUSE YOUR HEALTHY EXISTENCE MEANS A LOT! ❤
